Montana Group has acquired significant property in the town of Wilhelmsburg, Austria

Montana’s sister company WIL Immobilienentwicklungsgesellschaft m.b.H. has acquired the former Laufen porcelain plant in Wilhelmsburg at the address Mariazeller Strasse 100.
The property covers an area of approx. 76.000 m2 and is adjacent to the property at Lilienfelder Strasse 8 with an area of 7.250 m2, which had previously been acquired by WIL.
All existing buildings and extensive paved surfaces will be torn down starting in July 2027. Demolition is expected to take a year.
Planning is under way for the development of a new town center with public buildings, kindergartens, schools, buildings for emergency services, a new town hall, a large meeting and sports facility, a medical center, shops and a café, as well as about 100 apartments and a senior residence.
Great care is being taken to create an eco-friendly environment with extensive green areas, pedestrian and bike access, in particular to public transportation and to all facilities on the property and to the historic town center. Automobile access will be sharply reduced, parking will be exclusively underground. Renewables will be the main energy sources.
Building work is expected to start in the summer of 2028, once the necessary zoning and building permits have been obtained.
